Our Story

Meet the Smiths. We are a local family-run, self-storage business in Rossendale. We live locally and employ local staff.
 
We know how important your possessions are to you and we work very hard to ensure your items are stored safely and secure. And they’re insured against damage.
 
Your belongings will be in a building full of history. Our mill was built in 1860 by the Rossendale Cotton Spinning & Manufacturing Company Ltd. Now known as Atherton Holme Mill, Bacup Shoe Company (a sister company of Irwell) purchased it in 1928. Many of our customers have connections with the footwear factory which operated on-site until 2000. We still use part of the mill today to run Goodwin Smith footwear.
 
The storage units are high quality and easy to use. We have thermostatically controlled Reznor heaters on every floor to ensure your goods are kept dry. We have a new Lodige lift - which can comfortably fit 4 sofas at once. We have a police-response alarm system, 24-7 monitored CCTV, and more cameras than the BBC! We’re open 7 days a week, have both drive-in and dock-leveller loading bays for your convenience. And if your items are really heavy, we’ve even got a fork-lift truck.
 
You can store for as short or long as you need, there’s no deposit and no notice to leave. Just select your unit online and sign up, that’s it.
